RE-IMAGINING LOVEDALE PRESS WORKSHOP

Officials from the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture convened at Fort Hare University on 5 July 2024 to engage with stakeholders to discuss the urgent need to revive the black archive through Lovedale Press. Set against the backdrop of 201 years of existence, Lovedale Press stands as the oldest publishing house in Southern Africa.

The goal of the two-day programme was to restore and elevate black archival heritage, ensuring it stands proudly alongside other knowledge systems.
