The Eastern Cape Provincial Book Fair brings together celebrated authors, storytellers, thought leaders, and readers for a vibrant three-day celebration of literature, culture, and creativity. The event showcases conversations that bridge generations, address social issues, and ignite a love for reading among children and adults alike.
Designed to spark young imaginations, the Children’s Corner runs on 4–5 October, featuring storytelling by icons like Dr Gcina Mhlophe and Joy of Books, interactive book readings with the Nal’ibali, face-painting, indigenous games, and performances led by facilitators such as Nozipho Mbembe and Elise Davis & Buntu.

The Eastern Cape Provincial Book Fair 2025 brings together an inspiring line-up of renowned voices in literature, storytelling, politics, and media. Esteemed cultural icons such as Dr Gcina Mhlophe and Dr Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha join celebrated authors including Khaya Dlanga, Ronnie Kasrils, Jeffrey Rakabe, Michelle Kekana, Dudu Madonsela, Nomzekelo Siko, and Siphokazi Vanessa Mpofu, whose works span memoir, social commentary, and powerful fiction.
The programme also features respected facilitators and broadcasters Oliver Dickson and Phemelo Motene, alongside thought leaders like Prof Eddy Maloka and MEC Zolile Williams, offering rich insights into culture, politics, identity, and resilience. Together, these speakers will lead thought-provoking discussions, storytelling sessions, and workshops that celebrate creativity and spark meaningful dialogue.
