The Eastern Cape Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture in partnership with the Department of Education, hosted the Provincial Winter Games Championships on Saturday, 7 June 2025 in East London.
This exciting sporting event brought together learners from across the province who competed in three major sporting codes: netball, rugby, and football. The Winter Games aimed to promote active participation in school sport, provided a platform for learners to experience competition at provincial level, and identify promising young athletes for further development, and representation in the National Championships in Durban.
Through these games, the Department sought to foster teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among learners, while contributing to talent development and broader social cohesion within the province.
