It’s all systems go for the launch of the Eastern Cape Netball Fridays in Maletswai (Aliwal North) this Friday. The Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Eastern Cape Netball and Eastern Cape Sport Confederation will on Friday, the 11th of March launch the Eastern Cape leg of Netball Fridays in a two-day netball tournament this weekend.
The launch will be the first of a series of programs planned to mobilise support for the 2023 netball world cup that will be held in Cape Town next year. Netball Fridays are aimed at encouraging individuals and corporates to purchase and wear the official 2023 netball T-shirts every Friday ahead of the world cup.
Sport MEC, Fezeka Nkomonye says the province is going to do all it can to support the girls like it did with soccer during the 2010 world cup. Nkomonye has urged individuals and corporates to heed the call and support the girls as they prepare for one of its kind in Afrika.
