The Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture (DSRAC) in partnership with Vicky Mbalo Foundation, kicks off Woman's Month with Albertina Sisulu Charity Golf Day tomorrow, 02 August 2018, in East London.
2018 marks the centenary commemoration of the stalwart Mama Albertina Sisulu. She was a renowned woman of valour who's convictions and strong belief of advancing women' aspirations is well documented. Has she be alive she would have been 100 years, this year. The Golf Day will also have a charity element where a canvas portrait of Mam' Sisulu will be auctioned and the funds will be used to stock libraries with both books and toys for young learners in Mdantsane Schools.
About 40 Golfers have registered already, of which 5 are women, 2 professional and 14 of them are up and coming.
Furthermore, there will be a memorial lecture on Mama Albertina Sisulu in the evening. The lecture will be delivered by the International Relations and Cooperation Minister Lindiwe Sisulu, the daughter of Albertina Sisulu. Minister Sisulu is expected to speak authoritatively on the legacy of her mother.
